At our Center, we believe that nutritionally balanced, high quality meals play a fundamental role in your child's healthy development.
Our breakfast and afternoon snack menus are developed in accordance with federal nutrition requirements and aim to promote healthy eating habits in your child.
Every day, enrolled children are served breakfast from 7:30 till 8:30 am and an afternoon snack between 2 and 3 pm . Milk is served with breakfast.
Lunch will be provided by parents. Each lunch should be something your child can feed themselves (except for Infants). Remember to pack foods that your child enjoys and that are safe and healthy to eat. NO cooking of lunch food will be done at the ELC. If you do not sent a drink with your child for lunch, water will be provided and served using your child’s labeled lunch cup. NO soda or sweet tea is allowed. As per state guidelines the ELC will not wash or rinse lunch containers.
Parents of infants are asked to provide all formula milk, and food for their child.
Peanut-Free Center
St. Joseph Catholic Early Learning Center prohibits peanuts and/or foods containing peanut products on Center property when a child who has an allergy is enrolled. The Center understands that these peanut allergies can be so severe that exposure to peanuts can result in an anaphylacticreaction. An allergic child can have a reaction from simply smelling peanuts on someone's breath, or touching peanut oil residue left on a countertop.
Food Allergies
If your child has a food-related allergy and/or has a special diet, you will be required to submit a physician's written statement and dietary recommendations which will be kept in your child's file.
All known allergies in a classroom are posted in the room's Parent Information Board.
Due to the possibility of cross-contamination, homemade snacks are not permitted to be distributed at the Centers. Please refer to the Parent Handbook for more information on this topic.
